The Backpack accommodates 100 people in 16 room types which are all individually styled. We have all the facilities you can expect from an urban hip hostel. We offer free continental breakfasts & Fibre Optic WiFi throughout the hostel. We offer our guests excellent service and support through a wide range of tour operators; offering our guests the opportunity to practice responsible tourism in Cape Town and South Africa.

We stayed in a private room, with shared bathroom. It has a nice hostel vibe, but also with private if you want! A good simple breakfast included. A good central place to stay in capetown. Close to...

Directions

From Cape Town Airport (N2) at the Waterfront entrance you continue along Buitengracht Street (M62) towards Table Mountain. Where the road divides we are on that junction. Drive past us and go around the block and into our parking area. You can't miss it! Driving is the easiest way to reach us - ring if you need extra directions.

Policies

If cancelled up to 30 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled 29-7 days before date of arrival, 50% of the total price of the reservation will be charged. If cancelled later or in the case of a no show,100% of the reservation will be charged.

Children can only be accommodated in a private room or in the Family Room and must be accompanied by an adult. Children are not allowed to be accommodated in dormitories. South Africans will only be accommodated in private rooms unless by prior arrangement.
