Make yourself at home in our friendly backpackers and campground where we offer private family, double and twin rooms as well as dorm beds and powered and non-powered campsites. Situated 50 meters from the entrance to the Abel Tasman National The Barn is a place of fun, adventure, relaxation and good times. We also offer shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, a cozy movie room with an abundance of dvd's and outdoor seating areas where you can soak up the sun and enjoy serene ocean views. Along with being the Abel Tasman National Park's closest neighbor you can book all of your activities through our friendly staff and enjoy hiking, horse riding, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and more.

Beautiful site and location with spacious pitches for camping and nice views over the coast. Staff were all lovely and welcoming. Only complaint is there were no urinals so there were often queues...

I expected a calm relaxing place but that was not what I experienced. Paid more than usual for a private cabin and requested a quiet area. Was next to parking and camping area so lots of car doors...

Directions

The Barn is located on the far side of Marahau towards the Abel Tasman Park. Keep following the main road through the beginning of Marahau. You should reach a bridge across the Marahau river. From there you will see the the Abel Tasman foothills and The Barn is about 250m further on, just past the Park Cafe!
We are about 20 minutes drive from Motueka, around an hour from Nelson where our closest airport is and around 3 hours from Picton where you can access the North Island via ferry.

Policies

If a cancellation is made within 24 hours of the arrival date (2pm) you will be charged half price. No shows will be charge full price.
