Hostel Ah Wai, Hostel Ah Zhi

87 Pekan Melayu

Description

Spanning a large space close to 3,000sqft, this two-storey pre-war shop gives you the opportunity to step back in time with its original feel of how a goldsmith shop looked like in the past. It is located within a stone's throw away from the historical sites of Alor Setar with many local restaurants, hawker stalls, flea markets & a modern shopping mall nearby.

The shop is divided into two sections by a breezy courtyard. In the first section, you will find a vintage-styled TV hall with board games. It serves as a great space for socialising with other fellow travellers, watching local TV shows and playing some old-school board games. Next to the TV hall, you will find a dining hall and a well-equipped kitchenette with dining table and comfortable chairs provided. Over-looked by a tree at the courtyard, this area provides a relaxed ambience for dining (with local delicacies especially!). There is also a bluetooth enabled stereo for complementing the great vibes. Just connect your music through your phone.

The kitchenette is fitted with a fridge, microwave, Nespresso Inissia machine, Nespresso milk frother, toaster, and sufficient crockery and cutlery. We provide complimentary bread, peanut butter, butter, jams, local kaya, snacks, coffee, tea, sugar and drinking water throughout the day.
