The Fauzi Azar Inn is a 200-year-old Arab mansion turned guesthouse in the heart of Nazareth, offering both dormitory beds and private rooms in a unique old-world atmosphere. Chosen by Lonely Planet as #7 hostel in the world for 2014 and described by the Lonely Planet Travel Guide “one of the highlights of a stay in the Galilee” and “a great base for touring major sites of the Galilee.” The Fauzi Azar’s style is intimate and relaxed, with a warm atmosphere where guests and staff can meet, share travel stories and tips, and make new and lasting friendships.

Both dorm and private rooms are available at the spacious Fauzi Azar, so options are provided for everyones budget and group size. Each private room is equipped with its own bathroom and air conditioning, and two shower and washrooms are available for the dorm rooms. The property includes free wifi, modern laundry facilities, a computer/library room, and many picturesque common areas to have a coffee and relax after a day of site-seeing.

Fauzi Azar guests start their day with a hearty, traditional Arabic breakfast, which is included in the price of the stay. A large kitchen, fully equipped, is open for the guests to keep and prepare their own food in for lunch and dinner. Free, fresh baked cake is served at all hours along with fresh fruit from the local market and an assortment of teas and coffees, to keep travelers energized for their adventures!

The Fauzi Azar Inn is located in the heart of Nazareth’s Old City, only about a minute’s walk from the famed souq (or open-air marketplace). The guesthouse’s location is ideal, as it’s just a few blocks from either of Nazareth’s two city centers, a host of restaurants and coffee shops, and the attractions of the Old City. All of Nazareth’s major attractions, including the Basilica of the Annunciation, the White Mosque, and the Greek Orthodox St. Gabriel’s Church are no more than 10-15 minutes away from the Fauzi Azar. Wandering through the narrow streets of the Old City is a delight in itself, and both the Fauzi and other vantage points nearby afford wonderful panoramic views of Nazareth.
