Haiti Communitere is a unique guesthouse, which provides both accommodation for travelers and support to local Haitian organizations. It provides a serene environment for those who are looking to rest and rejuvenate, while also offering training facilities, opportunities to learn about agriculture, and a resource center for organizations that are working hard to achieve sustainable development in Haiti. HC is the perfect place to stay if you are volunteering in Haiti, looking to learn about sustainable development, hoping to meet like-minded people, or simply passing through.
Directions
Haiti Communitere is located five minutes from the international airport. When arriving at Toussaint Louverture airport, make a right onto the main road (Blvd Toussaint Louverture/ airport road). Drive straight until you reach the domestic airport (Guy Malary) then make a right onto the unpaved road that is opposite. We are located in front of Jedco (a large office building).
Policies
Cancellation Policy:
The deposit is non-refundable.
If you cancel:
• More than 72 hours prior to arrival, you will receive a full refund of the remaining amount;
• Between 24 and 72 hours prior to arrival, 50% of the price of the room will be charged; and
• Less than 24 hours prior to arrival, 100% of the price of the room will be charged.
No-shows will be charged 100% of the price of the room.
This policy includes changes to the number of people per reservation. It is the client’s responsibility to contact HC if they are unable to keep their reservation.
There are no refunds issued after check-in.
Haiti Communitere’s guest payment policy is as follows:
• Final payment is due at check-in;
• Your reservation is not confirmed until the deposit is received and you have received a confirmation email
• All secured reservations are subject to our cancellation policy; and
• We accept cash, credit/debit cards.
What if I don’t know how long I will stay? No problem! Many of our guests don’t make their travel plans in advance. You only need to make a reservation for the first day of your arrival. Once you are here and can check us out, you can pay those additional nights when you check in.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive a day late without informing HC, we will try and find you a bed, but this may not be in the same room type booked and may incur extra charges.
Documents to provide on check-in: A valid, government-issued ID must be presented at check-in.
Regulations:
The most important rule is that HC is a co-living environment, so you must respect the rights of other guests.
Visitors: If you plan to have visitors during your stay, please register them with management, upon your arrival or during your stay. If you are staying in a private room, overnight guests are charged at $20 per night. Dorms are for the use of HC guests only.
Smoking: All HC rooms and common areas are non-smoking. Smoking in the yard is permitted, but please be considerate .
