Caveland is nested in an old 18th century winery. We are situated in the heart of Santorini island, just 20 minutes walk or 3 minutes drive from the beautiful and atmospheric capital of the island called Fira Town. Our village is called Karterados and it is one of the most picturesque and traditional villages on the island with real well preserved cave houses, grandmothers sitting in their yards and grandfathers riding their donkeys!Our complex consists of 8 traditional caves and numerous sea view terraces with a big pool area and gardens. We have a big communal kitchen that you can use for preparation of your own meals, bookshelves if you want to borrow a book and a donation-based coffee corner. During your stay we recommend you to take a boat trip to visit our famous Volcano with Hot Springs, explore an archeological site of Akrotiri with a guide, see the famous sunset from Oia or Fira. All the busses heading to the South of the island (Perissa, Akrotiri, Kamari) pass this stop and it is really easy to get around.Bring your driving license with you, it is good to rent a quad bike or a car and see the hidden spots of the island!If you are arriving late at night/early in the morning, you need to book the bed for that particular night. I stayed at Caveland Santorini for 4 nights in September. I had a horrible experience. The rooms would stink like urine all the time, nothing seemed to make it better. There is zero ventilation and...
We are located in Karterados, the first village you will pass when heading south from Fira town, the capital of the Santorini island. It is just 20-25 minutes walk from our hostel. You can do it also easily in 3 minutes on a motorbike or with a car. We are 10 minutes drive from the airport and about 15-20 minutes drive from port. From port or airport: take a local bus (2.20 Euro from the port, 1.80 Euro from the airport, bus company KTEL) that goes to Fira town and get off at Zotos bakery. Then just walk.From Fira: We are located in Karterados, the first village you will pass when heading south from Fira town, the capital of the Santorini island. Coming from Fira town, after about 15 minutes of walk you will get to the fork at Multimedia market/ Zotos bakery. From Zotos Bakery (bus stop in Karterados): There you take the downhill road going into the village and continue all the way down for about 5-7 minutes. You will pass a police station, a windmill, 2 mini markets. Still continue all the way downhill until you see 2 tennis courts, Caveland sign and vineyards!
