Directions

By plane: There are two flights daily from Madrid to San Sebastian, and one flight from Barcelona. The airport is situated in Hondarribia/Fuenterrabia. You can get a bus or a taxi to San Sebastian.

By Train: RENFE is the national train company in Spain. Madrid and Barcelona are directly connected to San Sebastian. Irun and are France are also connected by train. from the train station just follow the river until the first bridge from the sea coast, cross that bridge, walk three blocks and turn right, walk until juan de bilbao st., turn left and on the 13 of that street there is the hostel

It could be a good idea to travel over night from Madrid or Barcelona (around 6 hours from Madrid and 7 from Barcelona).

From Paris you can get the TGV (High speed train, around 5 hours) that takes you to Irun. The TGV works with the French train company SNCF. In Irun you just get the regular train which takes 20 minutes to get to San Sebastian.

By Bus: San Sebastian is very well connected to the principal cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Pamplona, Vitoria, Burgos, Alicante, Salamanca, Galicia

Continental is the company if you are coming from Madrid, Burgos or Vitoria. La Roncalesa from Pamplona and Pesa from Bilbao.

There is also an international service, Euro-lines, that gets you to London (22 hours including the time the Ferry takes from Dover to Calais). This service is also offered if you are coming from Paris.

By car: From Madrid: Get the N-I (B/A roud) through Burgos
