Directions

It is located only 140km from Rio de Janeiro.

How to get there:

From Rio de Janeiro:

* By car: Leave Rio de Janeiro through “Ponte Rio-Niteroi”(a bridge), take the exit on the left (towards Rio Bonito), take Rio-Manila for 25 km, then go on BR-101 for 36 km to Rio Bonito, take Via Lagos (with bridge toll) towards Região dos Lagos. When you get to Via Lagos, go on for 68 km to São Pedro da Aldeia, then 13 km to Cabo Frio when you get to the traffic circle to São Cristovãdo at the end of Avenida América Central, take RJ-140 which connects Cabo Frio to Arraial do Cabo (10km away).

Travel time: 2 hours

* By bus: Take the bus to Arraial do Cabo from Viação 1001 at Rodoviaria Novo Rio (Novo Rio bus station).

From São Paulo:

* By car: Take Via Dutra towards Rio de Janeiro and then follow the directions from “From Rio de Janeiro, by car” above.

* By bus: Take the bus to Cabo Frio from Viação 1001 at “Rodoviaria Tieta” (Tieta bus station).

Travel Time: 8 hours

In Cabo Frio, take the local bus (Salineira) to Arraial do Cabo.
